Being An Author

Now that the dream of being an author has finally come true for me, it is time to take time out to make a few observations.

I find it very exciting that when people find out what I now do for a living, they are automatically intrigued. Instead of just playing it off like most careers, people are truly interested and have many follow up questions like "What have you written?" or "How many books do you have?" and that sort of thing. It takes the mundane out of routine conversations and turns it into something more magical.

The other day, as I was going to the dentist, I brought one of my books in to show the receptionist. After telling her what it was all about, she got so excited that she went ahead and bought it from me. As we were exchanging the money for the book, some of the other ladies that were workng there started to wonder what was going on. The next thing I knew, I had sold five books and signed them right there for them.

Each person was so excited about their purchase, they kept telling me they couldn't wait until they read it. When they said that, suddenly I felt so proud of what I had accomplished. Yes, it is only a book for them, but for me, it was an accomplishment 30 years in the making.

Now that Magic Tales is making a positive impact in the literary world, I feel motivated to create more magic for them. So follow me, and I will take you where you want to go............everywhere............
